Anthony Marbury passed away peacefully surrounded by family March 28, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Anthony was born August 17, 1959, in Danville, Illinois to the late ML Marbury and Willie Pearl Chapman Marbury.
He married his soulmate Charlotte Bryant September 13, 2002. From their union they had two beautiful twin daughters, Olivia Pearl and Madison Louise, of Frisco, Texas. Anthony leaves to cherish his memory of a brother Eddie Marbury of Parkville, MD, and a sister, Juanita Marbury of Danville, IL, along with a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, and friends.
Anthony graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champagne in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Technical Business Relations. He went on to build a successful career in energy sales, settling in Texas at the end of his career as a senior account manager at TXU Energy. Over the years, Anthony earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike, not only for his expertise but for his integrity, work ethic, and genuine desire to help others.
Anthony had a joy that filled the room and a smile that lifted the spirits of all who were nearby. He was the epitome of a faithful man who was led by and filled with the Spirit. A protector, confidant, mentor, friend, caretaker, loving husband, and best father in the world, he did it all and did it all well, with a unique wisdom rooted in love. He was often the first to pick up the phone, always with booming energy, usually starting with"Hex Sunshine!" and "What's up brother?" common openers to his beautiful conversations that will be deeply missed. Anthony was a fighter but no matter the battle he refused to ever "let it take his happy".
A Celebration of Life will commence at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, April 19, 2025, at New Union Baptist Church, 1031 N Gilbert St, Danville, IL 61832. Fellowship will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
