Annette Brown Obituary

Annette Latrice “Dee” Brown transitioned her life at the age of 40, on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 3:30am, at OSF Scared Heart Medical Center, Danville, IL.

Annette was born to Marcelle & Lavonna Brown. Annette was married to Issac Stanciel. Annette loved her three beautiful daughters, Christina Monae “Pooh” Brown, I’zeonna Janea “Juma” Stanciel & I’yonna Marie “Fats” Stanciel. Annette’s leaves behind her sister n laws, Ieasha Stanciel, Veora Carter, Cassandra Stanciel and brother n law Romon Stanciel. Paternal grandfather Marcelle Brown and her Special friends, Ollie, Jacquez & Miracle Ross. 

Annette was affectionately known as Dee by many. Annette attended Danville area schools and, as a young teen mother, she faced many challenges with strength and determination to persevere. Annette received her certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Annette was able to care and help others, giving the same love and dedication that she provided her own family and friends. Annette was known for her vibrant, outgoing personality and always standing firm in her beliefs. She brought joy and laughter wherever she went and she truly the life of the party. Annette loved singing gospel songs, playing cards and dancing. Annette spent a lot of time with her daughters, nieces, sisters, friends and family. Annette worked at The Waters nursing, Burger King, Lee’s Chicken & Marriott Townplace. She also loved braiding hair in her spare time. 

Annette was the 2nd oldest of 9 kids. She had 5 sisters, Dana Brown, Lavonna Brown, Jesse Haywood, Dereka Williams & Marcella Brown. She had 3 brothers, Johnathan Powell, Marcelle Brown & Marcelle Crosby. Annette had 10 nieces, 3 which are deceased and 1 great niece. Destiny Walker, Serenity Walker, Porsha Walker, Carizma Walker, Roialty Walker, special niece “Heaven” Walker & Lashawnna Brown. Great niece Knowledge Wandland. Annette had 4 nephews, Daquan Wandland, Darian Mott, Darnell Jones & Demarco Walker.

Annette was preceded in death by her nieces Seiona Haywood, Deziray Mott & Nadia Walker, maternal grandparents Sam & Addie Crosby, Sr, paternal grandparents Robert & Jessie Cooper, Uncles William Crosby, Sr, Stanley Crosby, James Croom, James Jackson, Aunts Rose Mae Forthenberry, Debra Jackson, Cousins Tereana Crosby, William Scooter Crosby III, Tesa Forthenberry, Jackie Forthenberry & Benita Forthenberry, Lakwana Williams, Taliyah Brigham, Nyarri Croom-Crosby and a host of other family members, friends, neighbors and the list goes on.

A  Celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Tuesday September 2, 2025 at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Eulogist: Pastor Bobby Keys.  Interment: Sanhill Memorial Park.
