Anna Adams Obituary

​Anna Bell Adams, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, transitioned from this life surrounded by the comfort and love of her home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Born January 25, 1951, in Wesson, MS, Anna was the daughter of John and Isabelle Adams, who showered her with love and care throughout her life. Anna was a devoted Christian who found the Lord at an early age and attended Shiloh Baptist Church, where she derived immense comfort and joy from her faith.

​Anna was an alumna of Danville High School located in Danville, IL from which she graduated in 1969. She was employed with and retired from the Children’s Center of Urbana for an impressive 35 dedicated years. During her tenure at the Children’s Center of Urbana, Anna touched the lives of many and won the heart of all.

​Aside from her work, Anna had several hobbies that she loved to indulge in, which included playing card games that would last for hours through the night, decorating the purple room, cooking, the motorcycle club, but most importantly, spending time with her family and friends.  Her kindness, generosity, and love will always be remembered by those who love her.

​Anna was predeceased by her parents, John and Isabelle Adams, her sisters Lillie Adams and Mary Dabney, and her brothers Joe, Clowzell, and Leroy Adams.  She is survived by her only daughter, Tamara Adams (Morris); seven grandchildren, Antonio Adams, Raeanna Rowan, Erika and Eric Jamerson, Monifah (Bruno) Parrish-Idugboe, Latifah Parrish (Paul), and Shaquille Adams; and Eight great-grandchildren, Calayah, Syncere, Hazel, Maize, Aiden, Magic, Alliyah, and Princess. She is also survived by her sisters Lynn Smith, and Marlene and Mickie Adams, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, family, and friends who will miss her dearly and cherish the heartfelt memories of her.

​Anna will always be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith.  She touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on every who knew her.  Her memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.  May she rest in peace and love.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023 at Leek & Sons, 1215 W. Bradley Ave., Urbana. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2023 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home. Apostle Davita Bernard will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, 2023 at Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville.
