Andre Sherell Clanton, Jr. (Artist Name: Yung N Muhdy) was born March 23, 1986 in Urbana, Illinois to Arlicia Perry and Andre Sherell Clanton, Sr. Andre transitioned from this life on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the age of 37.
Andre attended elementary school and high school in Urbana, Illinois. He moved to Las Vegas with his mother in 2002. Several years later, he returned to Champaign-Urbana, where he opened Studio 86. He lived in different states and traveled to different states performing his music.
Andre was a very kind-hearted man, a loving son, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew and father. He loved to joke around and flash that big contagious smile. Most of all he was a rap artist, producer, photographer, entrepreneur, basketball player, and an awesome role model. He loved everyone.
Andre leaves to cherish his memories, brother, Antonio Perry; sister, Shakino Anderson; five children, Samiia Clanton, Kvon Ayers, Malaiya Clanton, Khalani Pierson and Ashton V. Williams; two nieces, Anaya Perry and Anija Perry; Granny, Triva Perry; and, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Zaddie Tolston; grandfather, Nathaniel Perry, Sr.; uncle, Nathaniel Perry, Jr.; nephew, Antonio D. Perry; niece, Amiya Anderson; and cousins, Dontae Tolston and Donzell Tolston.
Andre will be greatly missed by all his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
Yung N Muhdy will always be our celebrity
A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Friday June 2, 2023 at Church of the Living God, 312 E. Bradley Ave., C. Bishop Lloyd Gwin will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be held at a later date. Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St., Danville, is in charge of arrangements.
