Alfonzo “Bubba Jaw” Borden, 73, answered God’s call to come home from his labor here on earth on October 9, 2021. Alfonzo was born October 16, 1947 in Gainesville, FL., to Lubertha and Willie Borden, Sr.
He was joined in holy matrimony in 1969, to Harren Rose Hall Borden. He worked as a Steel Mill Worker, Landscaper, Butcher and owned a Grocery Store in Chicago, IL. His hobbies included playing cards, listening to music especially gospel, putting people out of his house and car lovingly, and most of all he loved being around his family and friendsmaking many beautiful and precious memories.
He will be missed deeply by his wife, Harren; 3 daughters, Jackerly Borden–McFaddenand Aletha Borden both of Pompano Beach, FL., Alesha Borden of Danville; 4 sons, Stacey (Najwa) Ford of Cordele, Ga., Alonzo (Jacquita) Borden, Sr., Anthony (Monica) Borden, Sr. both of Danville and Alrenzo (Alicia) Borden of Marion, IN. 40 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 2 brothers, Willie Borden, Jr. of Polka, FL, and Ernie Borden of Pompano, FL.; 3 sisters Betty Borden, Lessie Mae Borden both of Margate, FL. and Alberta Baker of Pompano Beach, FL.; 2 sisters in laws, Arnetta (Earl) Kent and Alberta (Joseph) Lee ; 2 brothers in laws, Samuel and Bernard Hall; a host of nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters.
A Memorial service will commence at 12:00 Noon on Saturday October 23, 2021 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St., Danville.
