Stefphon Forthenberry Obituary

Stefphon D. Forthenberry 51 humbly submitted to God”s will on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, St. Albans Campus in St.
Albans New York.
Stefphon, known to many as “Stevie or Drummer”, was born in Danville, Illinois on November
23, 1967 to Steven and Carol Forthenberry.
Stefphon attended Danville schools and graduated from Danville High School. After high school
Stefphon enlisted in the U.S. Army and after serving in the Army he served as a member of the
National Guard. His National Guard unit assisted with cleanup after 911. Stefphon worked as a
youth counselor for youth for the State of New York for 16 years. Stefphon was very service
oriented.
Stefphon accepted Christ at an early age at Collett Street Church where he was a member. He
was an avid New York Yankee fan and enjoyed all sports. He loved being with his family and
friends.
Stefphon was married to Adelaida Gonzalez and from this union his daughter Alaina was born.
He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Alaina (Robert) Riverberry, his loving mother
Carol Forthenberry, sisters Tamera, Shanna and TaKesha Forthenberry and Rosiland (Phil)
Shaw, all of Danville, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend Shantisha
Ford of New York.
Stefphon was preceded in death by his father, Steven Forthenberry; sister, Tia Forthenberry;
brother Adam Forthenberry; maternal grandparents Frances Brigham and Ernest Lillard,
paternal grandmother Nina B. Forthenberry
A Celebration of Life will commence at 12 noon on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at New Life
Church of Faith 1419 N. Bowman Ave., Danville, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the
time of service. Officiating: Pastor Curtis Hawkins. Interment will be at the Danville National
Cemetery. Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St. Danville in
charge of arrangements.
