Reginal Lewis Obituary

Reginal Lewis passed this life and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2019.

Reginal Lewis was born on July 28, 1947, the son of Norman and Thelma (Beachum) Lewis in Danville, IL.

Reginal known to some as “Cool Breeze” and others as "Reggie".

At an early age Reggie accepted the Lord as his personal Lord and Savior at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church.

Reggie was a 1965 graduate of Danville High School. In 1969, Reggie served in the US Air Force as an Air Frame repair man. Reggie received an Honorable discharge.

Reggie retired from being a Crane operator in Tacoma, Washington.

Reggie loved life, playing Chess, going to truck shows, vintage cars, watching the horse races and spending time with family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his oldest son Jacob Lewis of Sweden and his youngest son Kareem Lewis of Sand Springs, GA, three brothers David “Ducky” Lewis and Nick Lewis of California and Rev. Al “Tony” Lewis of Memphis, TN, sisters Bert Hodson of Milwaukee, WI, Teen of Milwaukee, and Nisean of New York, Mary Potts and Charlotte Jackson of Danville IL. A special niece Gayle Brandon. Special friends Earl Miller, Stanley Miller, Greg Rutlege and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.

Reggie was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother Norman J. Lewis Jr.,  sisters Margaret Beasley, Audrey Brandon and Betty Wright.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Danville National Cemetery. Officiatant Rev. Al Lewis. Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams Street in charge of arrangements.
