Jherrion Correll Bates

Jherrion Correll Bates also known as “GiGi (Giselle) Mayonae”, 25 years old of Danville, IL passed his earthly life Sunday, July 21 2019 at 1:50 p.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL.

Jherrion was born in Danville, IL on April 21, 1994 the son of Brenda Webb and Milton C. Bates Jr. He was an avid fan of Beyonce Knowles. He enjoyed watching TV shows and makeup tutorials. Jherrion spent countless hours playing video games.

Jherrion graduated from Danville High School in 2012. In 2016, he began his career and his alter ego as “GiGi Mayonae”. She was a well-known drag queen entertainer. Jherrion enjoyed traveling and doing shows near and far. GiGi volunteered her time reading to children for “A Drag Queen Story Hour.”

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Brenda Webb, sisters A’sha Mathis and Kah’Meiryonna Cox, brother Dominic Noel, grandparents Cassie Webb of Danville, Milton C. Bates Sr. and Gail Bates of Danielsville, GA, uncles Albert Webb, Willie Cox, Roy McGrown Jr., aunts Doris Cox, Flora Cox-Vargas, Hester Webb and Lola McGrown all of Danville, Danielle Bates of Danielsville, GA and best friend/sister Tarisha Morris and a large host of family, friends and fans.

Jherrion was preceded in death by his father Milton C. Bates Jr., maternal great-grandparents Flora Pullett Jones and Simmie Cox, grandpa Roy McGrown Sr., paternal grandmother Barbara Heard and his uncle Cephus (Darryl) Heard.

A Homegoing Celebration will commence at 11:00 a.m. Friday August 2, 2019 at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating: Pastor Courtney Watson. Interment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery. Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St. in charge of arrangements.
