Iola Mikell

Iola Mikell 97 of Danville, passed this life at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday October 9, 2019. She was born July 5, 1922 in Moorhead, Mississippi to the union of David and Almeda Cauldwell.  Iola was united in holy matrimony to J.V. Mikell. In this union Iola was blessed with five children.  

Iola was a member of New Jerusalem Church of Jesus Christ Ministries where she was a church mother. She loved cooking, singing, gardening and serving others.

Iola leaves to cherish her memory; a daughter Regina Mikell and a son, Emory Mikell both of Danville. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three children; Willa Collins, Arthur Mikell, and Ralph Mikell.

A Homegoing celebration will commence at 12:00 noon Thursday October 17, 2019 at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating: Pastor Bobby R. Keys Sr. Leek & Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
