Andre Allen Bascom
 
Born August 24, 1953, from the union of John and Jimmie Lee Bascom.  He was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan.  He attended Detroit public schools and graduated from Chasey High School.  After high school, he followed his older brothers footsteps and joined the US Navy, for the next 12 years.  During that time he married Sharon Starks.  From that union they had Andre III.  And two other children prior.  When his time was up from the Navy he returned home to Michigan.  But later on circumstances lead him to Illinois. Andre worked for the Veterans Affairs Hospital where he retired after serving 21 years.    
Whereby, his time in Illinois, he met Ms. Cindy Counce and her beloved family. Who became his confidante and family for the remaining time of his life.
Andre passed this life at 9:11pm, October 25, 2019 at his residence.
 
He leaves behind his mother Jimmie Lee, his sister Florence Denise, his nephew Migale, and a host of other relatives and friends.
 
While, he will be joining his father John Allen, his brother Stephen.  Grandparents; George and Florence McLaughlin, George and Gladys Bascom and host of other beloved relatives.
A Celebration of Life will commence at 12'noon, Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, Danville. Visitation will begin at 11'am until the start of the service. Officiating Pastor Bobby R. Keys. Burial Danville National Cemetery.
