Linda Criss Obituary

Linda Alene Criss peacefully transitioned from this life on March 5, 2018 with her loving sister, Judy, by her side. Linda was born in Chicago, Illinois, September 4, 1949 to the late Thomas Sylvester Lillard and Leona Criss. She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Megina Bruton, sisters; Vera Criss, Beverly (Thomas) Jackson, Judith (James) Criss, Debra Crutcher, Angela Criss Skipper, Susan Blakes, and Eunice Hurns. Sister-in-law, Juanita and Merrill Criss, one brother, Abejide Toure'. A special friend, Andre Funches and two life time friends, Delores Coleman Witcher and Brenda Collier Brown. A host of nieces, nephews great and great great, cousins and many friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, a sons, Hasani Baier Bruton, two sisters; Annette C Williams and Patricia Criss. Four brothers; Charles, William, Steven and Harold Criss.

Linda attended Chicago elementary schools before moving to Danville under the supervision of her auntie-mom and uncle-dad Mazie and Troy Jackson. Linda attended East Park Jr High School and graduated from Danville High School.

While living in Danville Linda attended Union Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the youth choir under the pastorate of Rev Cecil Webb.

Her hobbies were shopping and dressing to impress which she did well. Linda enjoyed music and was a true Chicago stepper with the Chicago walk being her favorite.

The family would like to thank Gardenview Manor administration and the section D staff and Transition Hospice. Special thanks to Yvonne Brigham, Terri Boyd, Shirley Spriggs and Danielle Graham for going above and beyond the call of duty.

A memorial service will commence on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N Bowman Ave. Officiating: Brenda Brown, Eulogist: Minister W. Michael Hall.
