Clevonya Easley

Clevonya (Cle) Easley passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 25, 2024 surrounded by family.  He was born September 26, 1944 in Lexington, Tennessee to Ailine (Ailie) Easley and Naaman Williams who died at a young age during World War II.  Cle was 79 years of age.  He was raised by Vera and Frank Williams (Aunt Sis and Uncle Frank).  He also had a close relationship with his Stepfather, Terry Kizer.  He attended Montgomery grade school/high school and Tennessee State University. 

Cle accepted the Lord at a young age at Keys Chapel United Methodist Church. 

After moving to Champaign, Cle was employed at J. M. Jones and SuperValu retiring in 2007. Cle loved singing and sang with various groups including the Determinations and the Gay Poppers. He was a member of 2 organizations IOTA Phi Fraternity and The Heavenly Seven. 

Cle was a devoted member at St. Luke CME Church where he sang in the choir and served on the Steward Board.

Cle married the love of his life Darlene Dexter Pearson in April of 2004. 

He was proceeded in death by his mother, father, and stepfather in addition to his grandson Kendell Adams. 

Cle leaves to cherish his memory to  daughter Denetra Easley, sons Cle (Regina) Easley and Naaman Motley, stepchildren Stephanie Huffman and Shawn (Betsy) Pearson in addition to his grandchildren, Danielle Brown, Kendra Huffman,  Tiana Easley, Blake Pearson, Annabelle Pearson and great grandchild Brielle Aina. 

A celebration of life will commence at 12:00 Noon Saturday March 2, 2024 at St. Luke CME Church 809 N. 5th St., Champaign. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow after at Roselawn Cemetery.
